Dr. To Dr. Consulting

The Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of Illinois is fortunate to have an outstanding Medical Advisory Board (MAB) consisting of neurologists specializing in myasthenia gravis. MAB physicians provide expertise, volunteer their time by speaking at the organization’s meetings and provide a service to MGF of Illinois members to consult with other physicians not familiar with the disease.

Occasionally, we get calls from patients who would like their doctor to speak with an expert on MG. Myasthenia gravis is a rare disorder with fluctuating symptoms, and not all healthcare professionals encounter it often enough to be experts. The MAB physicians will consult with another doctor at the doctor’s request. If this is a service you would like to draw on, you will need to talk to your doctor. He or she can call the MGF of Illinois office (800.888.6208) provide details about the question and the best time and how to contact him or her. The MGF of Illinois office staff will call the MAB doctor and make the arrangements. As soon as the MAB doctor’s schedule allows, he or she will call your doctor. This is an invaluable member benefit from the Medical Advisory Board.
